International Women’s Day 2020
“Constitution, Fraternal Coexistence and Empowerment”

Sevasagnama Development Society, Kalaburagi, celebrated International Women’s Day in the month of March in various parts of Kalaburagi distirctt. The Celebration had “Constitution, Fraternal Coexistence and Empowerment” as the theme on the wall. 5 Panchayat level and one Town level Programs were conducted on this occasion.

In Aland Town the program was conducted in the leadership of Sr Susheela and local women leaders. Over 110 women from the locality celebrated their day. On the occasion Mrs Pooja Lahor, former ZP Member, the Chief Guest emphasized the positive contribution of the women to the family and society. She narrated her story of being a house wife and member of Zilla Panchayat in the most backward Taluq. She urged women to take up the mantle of empowerment and surge ahead for the transformation of the society and women.

Fr Anil Prasad, the President of the Program blessed the occasion. He spelt out the multiple roles women play in daily life of a family as mother, wife, sister, in law etc. In the society as teacher, doctor, nurse, leader, politician, administrator. He elucidated lives of great women like Kalpana Chawla, Mother Theresa, Indira Gandhi, Indira Nooyi and inspired women to be bearers of change. He thanked Sevasangama for organizing this meaningful programme.
